Amanda Sladek

Amanda Sladek is an Associate Professor in the Department of English at the University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK), within the College of Fine Arts and Humanities. She serves as an editor for special issues in academic journals and teaches courses ranging from first-year composition to advanced rhetoric theory. Her research focuses on antiracism, linguistic justice, and innovative pedagogical strategies in writing instruction.

Dr. Sladek holds a Ph.D. in English from the University of Kansas (2016) and a B.A. in English and Psychology from Midland University (2011). Her scholarship bridges writing studies, literacy theory, and sociolinguistics, with recent work addressing gendered language in academic discourse and digital tools for teaching language variation.
