Scott C. Chiu

Scott C. Chiu serves as the Director of the Writing Center and Associate Professor of English at California Lutheran University. He leads the development of Writing Center programs focusing on multiliteracy practices, translingual writing, international writing, community writing, and writing center pedagogy research.

His research interests encompass:

• First-Year Writing
• Writing Center Studies
• Second Language Studies and TESOL
• Applied Linguistics
• L1/L2 writing transfer and Translingual pedagogies
• Community Literacies

Chiu teaches courses including First-Year Writing, Writing Center Theory and Practice, Language & Linguistics, and Introduction to TESOL. He is also the Vice President of the Taiwanese Association of Northwestern Los Angeles (TANLA).
