Amalendu Ranjan

Amalendu Ranjan is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Microbiology, Immunology & Genetics within the College of Biomedical and Translational Sciences at the University of North Texas Health Science Center (UNTHSC). His research focuses on nanotechnology-based drug delivery systems to overcome therapeutic barriers in cancer and other diseases. He holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from Birsa Institute of Technology-Sindri, an MTech in Chemical Engineering from IIT Bombay, and a PhD in Biochemical Engineering from IIT Delhi.

Research Interests: Biomimetic drug delivery systems (cell membrane-coated nanoparticles), polymeric nanoparticles (PLGA-based formulations), and curcumin nano-therapeutics. His work emphasizes encapsulation of hydrophobic/hydrophilic drugs, lab-scale manufacturing, and targeted delivery via surface chemistry.

Key Collaborations: Co-Investigator on 11 sponsored projects including NRMNet (diversity mentorship), Langston University-UNTHSC partnerships for cancer research, and Texas Center of Minority Health initiatives. Active collaborations span institutes like NCI, NIMHD, and NIGMS.
