Ally Dering-Anderson

Ally Dering-Anderson serves as a Clinical Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Science at the University of Nebraska Medical Center's College of Pharmacy. Her professional activities span teaching, research, and leadership within pharmacy education and practice.

Dr. Dering-Anderson's research focuses on advancing pharmacist services in community pharmacies, with particular expertise in Point of Care Testing programs. She co-developed the national Point of Care Testing Certificate program and the California Pharmacists Association's Advanced Pharmacist training program. Her scholarship emphasizes creating collaborative practice agreements to improve patient care, policy issues surrounding medical cannabis, and interprofessional education initiatives. She serves as the College's representative on the campus legislative committee and is active in the UNMC Interprofessional Academy of Educators.

Her recent publications demonstrate a consistent focus on community pharmacy practice innovations, particularly in point-of-care testing for infectious diseases, collaborative practice models, and pharmacy education advancements. The research spans from foundational work on implementation barriers to practical applications in strep throat and influenza management.

Dr. Dering-Anderson coordinates multiple educational programs including the Law and Ethics series, Immunization course, and electives in Over-the-Counter Products, Complementary and Alternative Medicines, Point of Care Testing, Advocacy, and Medical Cannabinoids. She serves as faculty sponsor for the College's Phi Lambda Sigma chapter and precepts a 4th year elective APPE in health policy.
