Professor Allison McCulloch is an Associate Professor of Political Science at Brandon University, specializing in ethnically divided societies, post-conflict democratization, and power-sharing arrangements. She holds a B.A. (Hons) from Laurentian University and M.A./Ph.D. from Queen’s University. Her research explores how power-sharing governments handle crises, incentivize moderation, and address ethnonational divides.
Current projects include a SSHRC grant on citizen inclusion in power-sharing, a study on refugee governance in divided societies, and a Swiss-funded project analyzing power-sharing durability in Lebanon/Syria/Iraq. She co-edited Power-Sharing in the Global South (2024) and Power-Sharing Pacts and the Women, Peace and Security Agenda (2022).
McCulloch teaches Comparative Politics, Peace and Conflict Transformation, and Gender Studies courses. She received the Brandon University Alumni Association Excellence in Teaching Award. Her work appears in journals like British Journal of Politics and International Relations and Democratization.
