Allison Lemley, MA, joined the Chair of English Literature at Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg in 2024 as a Research Associate (wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin), completing her PhD while teaching undergraduate seminars and reading classes. Previously, she worked as a Teacher & Club Coordinator at Metropolitan School Frankfurt (2016-2020).
Research Focus: Early modern cultural memory, spatiality, and performance studies intersect with her analysis of history plays' influence on collective identity. Additional interests include early modern English witch trials, gender studies, and science/medicine history, reflecting interdisciplinary engagement.
Publications & Conferences: Her 2024 book review in Shakespeare Jahrbuch examines multicultural interpretations of history plays. Conference presentations (2021-2023) explored Shakespearean staging, audience response, and Henry VIII as a problem play. Earlier work (2017-2018) connected Gothic literature and medical ethics to broader historical discourses.
