Allison F. Bean

Allison F. Bean is an Associate Professor in the Department of Speech and Hearing Science at The Ohio State University’s College of Arts and Sciences. She holds a B.A. from Iona College, an M.S. from New York Medical College, and a Ph.D. from the University of Iowa. Her research focuses on language development in nonspeaking individuals with autism spectrum disorders and outcomes in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).

Her work has been recognized with the 2017 Alumni Award for Distinguished Teaching and the Distinguished Undergraduate Research Mentor Award. She actively presents at national and international conferences.
