Alison Bisset is Associate Professor of International Human Rights Law and School Director of Enterprise at the University of Reading. Her scholarship examines accountability mechanisms for mass atrocities, with particular emphasis on children's rights in conflict zones.
Research encompasses legal frameworks for transitional justice, including truth commissions and international criminal courts. Recent work analyzes repatriation challenges involving child detainees in Syria and Russia's forced transfers of Ukrainian children.
Monograph 'Truth Commissions and Criminal Courts' (Cambridge University Press) received the 2013 Research Endowment Trust Fund Prize. She advises governmental bodies on international criminal justice implementation and edits Blackstone's International Human Rights Documents.
