Alina Polyakov

Alina Polyakov serves as a Per Course Instructor of Piano at Gordon College's Adams School of Music and the Arts, where she teaches piano performance. A Ukrainian-born American pianist, she maintains an active international performance career spanning solo recitals, chamber music, and orchestral collaborations across the United States, Europe, and former Soviet Union territories, having performed with ensembles including the Gnessin's Academy Orchestra and New England String Ensemble.

Specializing in classical and romantic piano repertoire, Polyakov's performance expertise centers on works by Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Ravel, and Barber. The Glasgow Herald specifically praised her "unpretentious virtuosity" and ensemble sensitivity in the Rachmaninov Trio, noting how her playing "binds the trio together" without dominating the ensemble. Her artistic approach emphasizes technical mastery balanced with expressive depth across diverse performance contexts.

Polyakov actively collaborates with the Rachmaninov Trio at venues including London's Royal Academy of Music and St. Andrews University, while maintaining regular partnerships with Boston Symphony Orchestra musicians through the Community Chamber Concert Series. She frequently performs at major institutions such as Jordan Hall, Harvard University, and Boston University's Tsai Center, and has directed master classes at the Vienna Conservatory and University of Strathclyde.
