Alicia D. Johnson

Alicia D. Johnson is a Clinical Assistant Professor and CWEL Academic Coordinator at the University of Pittsburgh's School of Social Work. With over two decades of experience, she transitioned from direct practice as a school social worker (2003-2013) and Director of Student Support Services to higher education, where she now trains future social workers.

• PhD in Instructional Management and Leadership from Robert Morris University
• MSW and Home and School Visitor Certification from University of Pittsburgh
• B.S. in Psychology from Jackson State University

Her research focuses on trauma-informed practices in educational settings, educator mindset development, and child/family advocacy. She also brings practical expertise in school social work and student support systems.

As an educator, she has served both as adjunct faculty and in her current tenure-track role, blending academic instruction with real-world application.
