Alice Miller (also known as Ali Miller) is a Clinical Professor at Yale School of Public Health, Associate Research Scientist at Yale Law School, and Lecturer at the MacMillan Center. She holds a J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law and has over 20 years of policy experience with organizations including Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch.
Her expertise spans women's rights, sexual/reproductive rights, health as a human right, humanitarian law, safe migration, anti-trafficking policies, criminal law reform (particularly abolition of the death penalty), and LGBT rights. She serves on advisory boards for Human Rights Watch and the International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission.
Miller has held visiting professorships at the Sexuality and Rights Institute (India/Turkey) and University of Amsterdam's Summer Institute on Sexuality, Culture and Society. She is Senior Fellow at the Miller Institute for Global Challenges and the Law and Faculty Director for the Women's Institute for Leadership and Development at UC Berkeley School of Law.
