Alice Behnegar

Alice Behnegar is a Professor of the Practice and Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Political Science Department at Boston College. She holds an A.B. from Smith College, a J.D. from Stanford University, and a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago. Her expertise centers on political philosophy, with a focus on the foundations of modern liberal democratic nation-states, legal theory, and the history of political thought. She has authored works on Tocqueville’s analysis of freedom and has taught at Boston College for over 20 years, contributing to both the Political Science Department and the Arts & Sciences Honors Program.
