Ali R. Koymen

Dr. Ali R. Koymen is a Professor in the Physics Department at The University of Texas at Arlington with a distinguished career spanning several decades. His academic journey began with a BS in Physics from Hacettepe University in 1977, followed by an MS (1980) and PhD (1984) from the University of Michigan.

Dr. Koymen's research focuses on positron spectroscopy, materials science, and nanotechnology, with particular expertise in surface analysis using positron annihilation techniques. His work bridges fundamental physics with practical applications in energy, healthcare, and advanced materials. Recent publications demonstrate his continued leadership in graphene research, positron physics, and machine learning applications in radiation detection.
