Alfred G. Cuzán, a Professor at the Reubin O'D. Askew Department of Government within the University of West Florida's College of Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities, has dedicated his 40-year career to American and comparative politics, with a focus on fiscal policy in elections and Latin American politics. Born in Havana, Cuba, his academic journey began after witnessing Fidel Castro's rise to power in 1959, leading him to immigrate to Miami in 1961. He earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Miami and master's and doctorate degrees from Indiana University.
