Alexis Roig

Alexis Roig is the CEO of SciTech DiploHub, an international think-and-do tank focused on science, technology, and foreign affairs. He serves as Barcelona’s Chief Science and Tech Envoy and holds academic roles as a Professor at the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (USST), Associate Professor at Pompeu Fabra University (UPF) and the Barcelona Institute of International Studies (IBEI), and Associate Researcher at the Barcelona Centre for International Relations (CIDOB). With over a decade of experience, he advises governments globally on science diplomacy strategies.

His research interests center on science diplomacy, technology policy, and international relations, emphasizing collaboration between governments and scientific communities. Roig’s work bridges global governance challenges with technological advancements, advocating for cooperative frameworks in an increasingly divided world.

As a thought leader, he has organized events like 'Science Diplomacy in 2022: More Cooperation or More Division?' and contributes to shaping policies at the intersection of science and international affairs. His advisory roles span ministries of foreign affairs and science across Asia, Europe, and Latin America, reflecting his expertise in cross-border scientific collaboration.
