Alexis Hart is the Thomas M. and Sarah Stewart St. Clair Professor of English and Director of Writing at Allegheny College. With a B.A. from the University of Rochester and Ph.D. from the University of Georgia, Hart specializes in civic rhetoric, computers and writing, undergraduate research, and veteran studies.
Research interests focus on:
- Military-to-academic transitions for veterans
- Writing center pedagogy and learning commons development
- Undergraduate research dissemination and journal management
- Historical representations in military writing
