Alexis Teagarden is an Associate Professor and Writing Program Administrator in the Department of English & Communication at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. She directs the First-Year English program and teaches courses in advanced rhetoric and writing workshops.

Her research explores intersections of public policy, education reform, and writing pedagogy, with a focus on charter schools and the role of intellectual risk in writing classrooms. She also investigates faculty development and student evaluations of teaching.
