Alexandra Ormond

Dr. Alexandra Ormond serves as Professor and Department Chair of Chemistry, Physics, and Geoscience at Meredith College. She earned her PhD in Fiber and Polymer Science from North Carolina State University (2012) and holds dual BS degrees in Chemistry and Polymer and Color Chemistry from the same institution (2007).

Her research encompasses organic synthesis of antibiotics and dyes, biofuel production, and GC/MS analysis of digestive processes in Sarracenia purpurea. She maintains active engagement with the American Chemical Society as chapter advisor at Meredith College.
