Dr. Alexandra Kouroutaki is a Lecturer at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Technical University of Crete (TUC). She holds a PhD in Art History from the University of Bordeaux Montaigne, a Postgraduate Diploma in French Literature from the Hellenic Open University, and an honors degree in French Language and Literature from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She also holds a Piano degree from the Hellenic Conservatory of Athens.
Her research focuses on:
- Art History and Neo-Hellenic Art
- Religious painting techniques and aesthetics
- Philosophical intersections in art theory
She currently teaches History of Culture and Art and Technology at TUC. Previously, she taught at TUC's School of Architecture (2018-2023) and the Technological Educational Institute of Crete (2004-2008). She also supervised the educational program 'Byzantine Painting: Theory and Techniques' at TUC's Lifelong Learning Center.
She maintains active memberships in the Association of Greek Art Historians and the International Association of Art Critics, and formerly served on the board of the Historical, Folklore and Archaeological Society of Crete.
