Alexander Rose

Alexander Rose (Rózsa Sándor) is an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Personality and Health Psychology at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Gáspár Károli Reformed University. He holds a PhD in personality and health psychology from ELTE Doctoral School of Psychology (2009) and previously served as an Assistant Professor at ELTE. His academic career spans over two decades with significant contributions to psychological measurement and research methodology.

Rose specializes in personality psychology, psychological measurement, and research methodology. His research focuses on the development and adaptation of psychological measuring instruments, measuring personality traits, cross-cultural comparative studies, and designing clinical and personality research. He leads the Psychological Statistics Research Group and participates in the Resilient Development Positive Working Group and the Personality and Health Psychology Research Workshop (2020-2024).

His recent publications (2022-2025) demonstrate a strong focus on resilience, psychological measurement, and health-related topics. His work includes validation studies of various psychological instruments, research on yoga's impact on mental and physical health, assessment tools for children, and studies on self-esteem and personality characteristics in clinical populations. His research shows a consistent interest in psychometrics and practical applications of psychological measurement.

Rose serves as a personality/psychometrics columnist at the Hungarian Psychological Review (2021-present), co-edits the Frontiers in Psychology, Personality and Social Psychology section (2022-present), and is on the editorial board of PSYCH and the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health (2022-present). He previously held a Fulbright scholarship and conducted research at Washington University in St. Louis (2011-2015).
