Alexander Chaushian

Alexander Chaushian is a renowned Cello Professor at the Royal College of Music (RCM) in London. As a celebrated cellist, he performs globally at prestigious venues like Wigmore Hall, Carnegie Hall, and Berlin Philharmonie, collaborating with artists such as Yuja Wang and Yevgeny Sudbin. He serves as Artistic Director of the Pharos Chamber Music Festival (Cyprus) and Yerevan Music Festival (Armenia).

His research interests center on chamber music, orchestral performance, and cello technique. He frequently performs Khachaturian’s Concerto-Rhapsody and collaborates with the Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra. Chaushian’s awards include the Tchaikovsky Competition and ARD Competition.

He leads the Tchaikovsky Trio with Pavel Vernikov and Konstantin Bogino, and maintains close ties with RCM through teaching and ensemble residencies.
