Alex Scott is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Iowa. He holds a BA in Journalism from the University of North Texas, an MA in Photojournalism from the University of Missouri, and a Ph.D. from The University of Texas at Austin. His research examines how visual media constructs social difference through race, gender, class, and ethnicity, with a focus on migration narratives and sports media representation.
