Alex Perullo is Professor of Anthropology at Bryant University's College of Arts and Sciences, holding appointments in the Department of Politics, Law, and Society. As a Fulbright Scholar, his research examines African music economies, intellectual property rights, and youth cultures through ethnographic engagement with East African communities.
His publications include the award-winning book 'Live from Dar es Salaam' and recent work on humor in East African social contexts. Perullo directs community arts initiatives documenting African immigrant experiences and developing legal resources for artists.
