Alessandro Nova is Emeritus Professor and former Director (2006-2022) of the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florenz, part of the Max Planck Society. A leading scholar of Renaissance art, his research spans art theory, Leonardo da Vinci studies, and Italian artistic patronage.
