Professor Alec William Welsh is a subspecialist in Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) with advanced qualifications in Digital Imaging and Fetal Imaging, including a PhD. He holds the academic title of Professor of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of New South Wales and leads the Perinatal Imaging Research Group at the Royal Hospital for Women & NSW Fetal Therapy Centre in Randwick, NSW. His clinical expertise spans obstetrics and maternal-fetal medicine.
Research interests include:
- Application of novel Doppler parameters to assess fetal myocardial efficiency
- Quantification of power Doppler for regional perfusion analysis
- Trophoblast culture techniques in laboratory research
