Dr. Alberto Manzi is an Associate Professor of Psychology at Mercy University, affiliated with the School of Social and Behavioral Sciences. He has been a full-time faculty member since 2009. His research focuses on clinical psychology, psychopathology, memory, attention, and executive functioning, with collaborations at the Ackerman Institute for the Family and Columbia University's Department of Psychiatry. He holds a Doctorate in Mind Sciences from the Second University of Naples, Italy, and completed postdoctoral training at Columbia University and the New York State Psychiatric Institute.
Dr. Manzi teaches graduate courses such as Counseling & Applications, Statistics, and Thesis Supervision, as well as undergraduate courses including Cognitive Psychology and Research Methods. He is a licensed psychotherapist and has additional training in family therapy and psychoanalysis, including a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Mercy University. His work has been published in journals like Journal of Vision and Frontiers in Psychology.
He received the honorary title of Research Fellow from the American Psychoanalytic Association in 2019. Dr. Manzi also engages in extracurricular teaching, supervising internships and leading workshops such as the “Step Up to STEM” program and New York State DASA compliance training.
