Albert Heck is Professor of Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Sciences at Utrecht University, leading the Biomolecular Mass Spectrometry and Proteomics group. He is scientific director of the Netherlands Proteomics Center and affiliated with Life Sciences Utrecht and the Utrecht Molecular Immunology Hub.
His research focuses on advancing mass spectrometric technologies for proteomics, structural biology, and understanding protein networks in health and disease. Key innovations include TiO2-based phosphopeptide enrichment and LysN protease for de novo sequencing.
