Alan Thomas is a Professor of Trumpet at the Royal College of Music and Trumpet Tutor at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, where he was awarded a fellowship in 2012. As Principal Trumpet of the BBC Symphony Orchestra since 2013, he performs in globally broadcast events like the BBC Proms. He previously served as Principal Trumpet with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (2004-2013) and maintains an active solo career, including collaborations with North Devon Sinfonia and BBC's 'All Together Now' winners.
