Alain Pluen is a Senior Lecturer in the Division of Pharmacy and Optometry at the University of Manchester. He joined the School of Pharmacy in 2000 and specializes in protein-protein interactions, nanoparticle formulation, and drug delivery. He holds roles as DPO Lead for Post-Graduate Teaching and Post-Graduate Research Tutor.

- Image correlation spectroscopy for quantifying peptide uptake and protein aggregation
- Graphene exfoliation using peptides
- Cell-penetrating peptides and multidrug resistance mechanisms

Teaching: Leads undergraduate and postgraduate modules in pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences, including PHAR11001, PHAR22002, and PIAT module 71010.
Collaborations: Works with Manchester Integrated Biosciences, Prof. Derrick and Dickson (COEBP), and Drs. Curtis, Warwicker, and Golovanov.
