Professor Alain Brunet is the Director of the National PTSD Centre and the Thompson Institute at the University of the Sunshine Coast (UniSC), Queensland, Australia. He holds a Postdoctoral Fellowship from the University of California San Francisco, a PhD from Université de Montréal, and degrees from Concordia University and the University of Montreal. His 20+ year career focuses on trauma exposure, PTSD risk factors, and innovative treatments like Reconsolidation Therapy, which was applied to Bataclan terrorist attack victims and recognized as one of Québec Science's top 2008 discoveries.
Key contributions include developing the Peritraumatic Distress Inventory (PDI), used globally in 12 languages, and co-editing the Journal of Traumatic Stress.
