Alaidde Villanueva Aguilera

Dr Alaidde Villanueva Aguilera is an Assistant Professor in the School of Education at Durham University. Her research focuses on evidence synthesis of educational interventions, including systematic reviews and meta-analysis. She maintains and extends the Sutton Trust/Education Endowment Foundation Pupil Premium Toolkit, a web-based resource aiding schools in allocating funding effectively. Previously, she worked at the Institute for Effective Education (IEE), University of York, where she evaluated classroom-based randomized controlled trials and developed knowledge exchange tools.

Her expertise spans reading comprehension, grammar acquisition, second language learning, and psycholinguistics. She contributes to advancing evidence-based education through collaborative projects between researchers and practitioners.
