Dr. Aisling Bailey is a Senior Lecturer at Swinburne University of Technology's School of Social Sciences, Media, Film and Education. Her research focuses on environmental anthropology, climate resilience, equity, and energy efficiency, with projects involving organizations like CERES and AHURI. She currently leads the Environment, Equity and Technology research program at the Social Innovation Research Institute and co-chairs the Social and Environmental Sustainability in Organisations Research Group.
Education: PhD/Environmental Anthropology from Monash University, Australia.
Research interests include climate adaptation in the Pacific, community-driven climate solutions, and the intersection of climate change with housing resilience and insurance. She recently secured an internal grant (2024–2025) to study Victoria's rental minimum standards implementation. Teaching responsibilities include coordinating the Climate and Social Justice Major and courses like Environment and Society SOC10005 and Changing our Climate SOC30020. She supervises PhD topics on settler colonialism, environmental discourse, and ecological crises in the Murray-Darling Basin.
Awarded roles include former Equity and Inclusion Portfolio Leader for The Australian Sociological Association and affiliation with the Innovative Planet Research Institute.
