Adriane Grumbein

Adriane Grumbein is an Associate Professor and Director of Undergraduate Studies in the Department of Integrated Strategic Communication at the University of Kentucky's College of Communication and Information. She teaches creative strategy, visual communication, and advertising design courses while advising student organizations including the Ad Club and National Student Advertising Competition team.

Research explores visual communication strategies in advertising, branding, and health contexts. Her work examines aesthetic elements in media, gendered messaging in children's programming, and health communication design, with publications in journals such as Mass Communication and Society and Health Communication.

Recent projects investigate nonprofit communication with millennial donors and health registry enrollment messaging for African American communities. Her creative pedagogy emphasizes unlocking student creativity through hands-on projects.
