About
Adriana Creatore is a Full Professor at the Department of Applied Physics at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). She leads the Plasma and Materials Processing group, focusing on atomic-scale engineering of thin films and interfaces for energy technologies. Her work includes atomic layer deposition (ALD) for solar cells, batteries, and electrochemical systems. Creatore holds an MSc and PhD in Chemical Sciences from the University of Bari (Italy) and joined TU/e as a Marie Curie postdoc in 2001. She has received grants including the VENI and NWO-Aspasia awards, and manages projects like the DAC Maturation initiative (2022-2024).
Her research spans low-pressure plasma CVD, initiated-CVD, and ALD, with applications in perovskite solar cells, photo-electrocatalytic systems, and solid-state batteries. She contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to affordable and clean energy (SDG 7) and climate action (SDG 13). Key research themes include ALD for energy storage, advanced ALD technologies, and nanolayers for solar cells.
Creatore teaches courses such as 'Fundamentals of Energy Harvesting and Storage' and 'Solar Cells.' She has supervised 72 students and published over 250 articles, with a focus on materials science and energy conversion. Her lab’s innovations include humidity-stable perovskite solar cells and 3D electrode designs for water oxidation.
