Dr. Adrian Murton is a Lecturer in Management Consulting at the Leeds University Business School, part of the University of Leeds. His expertise spans Management Consultancy, Organisational Dynamics, Psychoanalysis and Organisations, and Economics. He holds a PhD in Industrial Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), alongside advanced degrees in Labour Law, Industrial Relations, and Economics.
His research focuses on organisational change interventions, self-consciousness in consultancy, normalization of inertia in organisations, and systems change through educational initiatives. Notable projects include studies on post-crash economics curriculum reforms and marketisation in UK higher education.
Murton teaches modules such as Contemporary Issues in Management Consulting and Economic Institutions at the undergraduate level. He supervises undergraduate and master’s dissertations and actively contributes to the Centre for Employment Relations, Innovation and Change (CERIC). Professional memberships include the Chartered Management Institute, Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, and British Universities Industrial Relations Association.
He has held leadership roles, including Associate Dean for Academic Innovation and Head of Schools at London Metropolitan University, and has extensive experience in organisational development and human resource management education.
