Adrian Bull

Adrian Bull is the BNFL Chair in Nuclear Energy and Society and Associate Director at the Dalton Nuclear Institute, part of The University of Manchester. With a 40-year career in the UK nuclear industry (BNFL, Westinghouse, National Nuclear Laboratory), he focuses on government policy, stakeholder engagement, and nuclear energy's societal impact. He holds a BA in Engineering from the University of Cambridge (1983).

Current roles include Senior Advisor at Full On Communications and UK Government representative on the OECD Nuclear Energy Agency's High-level Group on Stakeholder Engagement. He will serve as President of the UK Nuclear Institute from January 2026.

Research interests span nuclear policy, stakeholder communication, and net-zero strategies. His work contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to affordable energy and climate action. Notable outputs include the 2022 commissioned report Going Nuclear, addressing nuclear strategy impacts.

External engagements include advisory roles in nuclear communications and policy impact projects focused on economic and environmental sustainability.
