About
Professor Adam Łazowski is a Professor of EU Law at the University of Westminster and holds visiting roles at the College of Europe (Natolin Campus), where he coordinates the European Neighbourhood Chair, and the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv. His research focuses on EU pre-accession policy, Brexit legal aspects, EU external relations, and withdrawal mechanisms. He teaches courses on EU enlargement and EU-UK relations post-Brexit at the College of Europe.
Łazowski has contributed to over 30 peer-reviewed articles and edited volumes, including works on EU exit legal parameters (forthcoming 2025), Brexit legal frameworks, and EU-Croatia accession treaties. He serves on editorial boards for New Journal of European Criminal Law, European Papers, and Croatian Yearbook of European Law and Policy. He has provided parliamentary evidence to the UK House of Lords (2012) and the Scottish Parliament (2015) on EU enlargement and withdrawal.
His research trends emphasize legal challenges in EU expansion, post-Brexit legal frameworks, and compliance mechanisms in candidate countries. He frequently lectures at global institutions like the European Law Academy (Trier) and European Institute of Public Administration (Luxembourg).
Łazowski’s academic contributions bridge legal theory and policy, addressing contemporary crises like Poland’s rule of law issues (documented in CEPS op-eds). His photography, including the 2016 Albania through a lens, reflects a dual passion for legal scholarship and artistic expression.
