Adam Silver

Adam Silver is an Associate Professor of Political Science at Emmanuel College, specializing in American political institutions, campaign strategies, and the intersection of social movements with music. He has practical experience as a policy analyst and legislative director in the New York State Senate.

• Education: Ph.D. in Political Science from Boston University (2010), M.A. in History from SUNY Albany.

His research focuses on political party platforms and electoral strategy through historical analysis of nineteenth-century American political history. His publications examine shifts between economic and cultural issues in party platforms and content analysis of political consensus/conflict cycles. Current work includes a book manuscript on political party development in nineteenth-century America.
