Adam Czarnota is Rector of Riga Graduate School of Law (2022-2024) and Honorary Associate Professor at University of New South Wales. He holds a PhD and LL.M from N. Copernicus University, Poland. Previously, he served as Professor of Law at University of Wroclaw (2021-2022), Associate Professor at University of New South Wales (2000-2020), Scientific Director at International Institute for Sociology of Law (2013-2016), Professor at University of Basque Country (2013-2016), and Senior Lecturer at Macquarie University (1994-2000).
His research examines populism's impact on constitutional democracy in Central-Eastern Europe, epistemic authority in legal systems, transitional justice mechanisms, and legal education reform. He has edited several books including 'Anti-Constitutional Populism' (Cambridge, 2022) and published extensively on post-communist legal transformations.
