Aaron Roeschley, PhD, is an Assistant Professor at the University of Kentucky’s Gatton College of Business and Economics, where he has served since 2019. He earned his PhD in Accounting from the University of Arizona in 2019, preceded by an MAcc from the same institution and a BS in Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Research Interests: Professor Roeschley investigates how regulation and standard-setting influence financial market participants, with a particular emphasis on managers’ disclosure decisions and investors’ reactions to earnings information.
Recent Publication: His 2022 article in the Journal of Accounting Research, co-authored with P. Hribar, R. Mergenthaler, S. Young, and C. X. Zhao, examines whether managers increase voluntary disclosure when GAAP restricts their reporting discretion within financial statements.
