Kris D Allee is a Professor and the Doyle Z. Williams Chair in Professional Accounting at the Sam M. Walton College of Business, University of Arkansas. He holds a PhD in Accounting from Indiana University and earned his BS and MAcc from Brigham Young University (BYU), where he also completed his MBA. Prior to joining the University of Arkansas, he served as an Assistant Professor at Michigan State University and the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and worked as an Associate Economist for the Federal Reserve Banks in St. Louis and Charlotte.

His research focuses on firm disclosure policies, textual analysis of disclosures, financial reporting by small businesses, cost of equity capital, and corporate tax behavior. His work combines computational linguistics with traditional accounting frameworks to explore how firms communicate financial information.
Recent publications analyze market reactions to energy windfall taxes, voluntary disclosure patterns, and the role of auditors in financial contracts. His research has been published in top-tier journals including The Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting Research, and Management Science.
