Aaron MacNeill

Aaron MacNeill is an Electrical Engineer and Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Dalhousie University. He is affiliated with the CERC Ocean initiative and located at the CERC Lab 1-36. His professional roles include leading engineering projects in ocean technology and renewable energy.

Research Interests:

MacNeill focuses on advancing SeaCycler AUVs and ROVs, embedded system design, and offshore renewable energy solutions. His work integrates hardware/software systems for ocean exploration and sustainable energy applications.

• Recipient of prestigious awards including the Governor General’s Medal (2006) and multiple Dalhousie Engineering Excellence Scholarships.
• Recipient of research grants such as the NRCan Research Grant (2012).

Professional Contributions:

He serves as IEC TC114-100 Standard Convenor (2018–Present) and has been active in the IEEE Canadian Atlantic Section since 2013.
