Dr. Suzan Eren is an Assistant Professor and Queen's National Scholar in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Queen’s University. She is a member of ePOWER, the Queen’s Centre for Energy and Power Electronics Research Group. She earned her BSAc (First Class Honours, 2006), MASc (2008), and PhD (2013) in Electrical Engineering from Queen’s University. Her industrial experience includes developing solar micro-inverters with SPARQ Systems.
Research Interests: Dr. Eren focuses on power electronics applications for sustainable energy systems. Key areas include:
- Micro-grid optimization and control
- Renewable energy integration
- Energy storage technologies
- Electric vehicle power systems

- Queen's National Scholar (prestigious early-career award)
- 12 U.S. patents in power electronics
- Registered Professional Engineer in Ontario
Professional Leadership: She serves as Associate Editor for IEEE Journal of Emerging and Selected Topics in Industrial Electronics and IEEE Journal of Emerging and Selected Topics in Power Electronics, and chairs the IEEE Kingston Section.
