AM Marshall

Dr. AM Marshall is a Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science at the University of York. His roles include Chair of the Board of Examiners for Computer Science online programmes and membership in the Physical Sciences Ethics Committee and Professional Services Research Ethics Committee. He holds qualifications such as BSc, PhD, Chartered Engineer (CEng), and Fellow of the British Computer Society (FBCS).

His research focuses on online crime, digital forensics, and technology-supported criminal activities. Key interests include money laundering in online games, MetaVerse criminal platforms, and digital evidence regulation. He advises TV productions on forensic procedures and has authored a book on digital forensics, alongside a PhD by publication titled Digital Evidence Regulation - an assessment of underlying issues in England and Wales.

Dr. Marshall has contributed to Digital Forensics Magazine, Absolute Lotus Magazine, and serves as an Associate Editor for FSI: Digital Investigation. His career spans over two decades in academia and criminal justice, including work as an expert witness in major cases and advising neurodivergent students.
