Assistant Professor Žiga Lesar serves as a Laboratory Member at the Laboratory of Computer Graphics and Multimedia, teaching core courses including Computer Graphics, Advanced Computer Graphics, and Computer Graphics and Game Technology. His academic role centers on applied computer graphics research within interdisciplinary domains.
His research spans Computer Graphics, Augmented Reality, and Multimedia with specialized applications in Digital Archaeology and Vibrational Communication. He develops computational solutions for archaeological site documentation using drone technology and explores bio-acoustic communication systems through the Vibroscape project.
Current research funding includes:
- J1-3016: Vibroscape: discovering an overlooked world of vibrational communication (ARRS project, 2021-2024)
- BI-IT-18-19-010: Augmented Reality and Drones in Archaeology (Bilateral Slovenia-Italy project, 2018-2021)
As an integral member of the Laboratory of Computer Graphics and Multimedia, he contributes to the lab's mission of advancing visualization technologies through practical implementations in archaeology and biological communication systems.
