Dr. İmren Arbaç is a Lecturer at Yeditepe University's Department of Russian Language and Literature, affiliated with the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. He holds a PhD in History (2021) from Yeditepe University, focusing on Turkish-Russian economic relations during the Cold War using Russian archives. His academic journey includes a master's degree in Russian Language and Literature from Istanbul University (2014) and an undergraduate degree from Ankara University (1987).
His research interests center on Turkish-Soviet diplomatic and economic relations, Cold War studies, and historical analysis of bilateral interactions. He has authored textbooks like Давайте Учить Русский Язык! and contributed to volumes such as Siyasi, Sosyal ve Kültürel Yönleriyle Türkiye ve Rusya. Recent publications examine Soviet-Turkish state visits (2023), industrial planning during the 1930s (2024), and media portrayals of diplomatic normalization (2021).
Dr. Arbaç has presented at conferences including the 6th International Turkish-Russian World Academic Research Congress (2023) and the International Conference on Innovative Development of Territories (2015). He has held administrative roles such as Department of Russian Language and Literature Deputy Chair (2018) and coordinates language programs. His teaching spans Russian language courses and cultural studies modules.
