İLKNUR KARA is an Associate Professor at the Department of Basic Education, Faculty of Education, Anadolu University, Turkey. She holds a PhD in Chemistry from Eskişehir Osmangazi University (2012) and has been affiliated with Anadolu University since 2005, progressing from Lecturer to Assistant Professor (2016-2024) and now Associate Professor (2024-present).

Her research focuses on geopolymer technology, analytical chemistry, and environmental remediation, particularly for heavy metal removal and dye adsorption from aqueous solutions. She has contributed to the development of modified geopolymers, biosorbents, and sustainable ceramic materials.
Recent publications highlight her work on metal ion adsorption, geopolymer functionalization, and environmental applications of clay-based materials. She has supervised 1 postgraduate thesis and participated in 7 funded projects, including a TUBITAK-supported initiative (2023-2025) on fungal cell immobilization in geopolymers.
