Øyvind Bø is a Research Fellow at the Department of Private Law, University of Oslo. His work focuses on EEA law and Norwegian social security law. He holds a Licence to Practise Law in Norway (2009) and an LL.M. from King’s College London (2003). His professional background includes roles such as Deputy Leader at Supervising Commission II (Lovisenberg Diaconal Hospital, 2021–present), Judge at the National Insurance Court (2017–2022), and Legal Adviser at the EFTA Surveillance Authority (2014–2017). He has also served in various legal and judicial positions in Norway and the UK.
His research emphasizes free movement of persons within the EEA and the practical application of social security regulations. Bø actively contributes to interdisciplinary projects like Welfare across borders: solidarity, equality and free movement (LEVEL), exploring legal frameworks for transnational welfare systems.
Publications include analyses of EEA legal implementation and judicial interpretations of social security laws, reflecting his expertise in balancing legal theory with practical governance challenges.
