Øystein Tvede is a Senior Lecturer in Scandinavian Literature at the University of Oslo. His academic background includes a Master's in French literature from the University of Oslo and Paris IV - La Sorbonne, and a PhD in French literature from the University of Oslo (2008–2011). Previously, he served as a Senior Lecturer in Comparative Literature at NTNU (2018–2020) and worked as a lexicographer for Det Norske Akademis ordbok (2015–2018).
