Özlem KARADAĞ ALBAYRAK is an Associate Professor at Kafkas University's Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of International Trade and Logistics. She has been serving in this capacity since 2023, following her progression from Assistant Professor (2019-2023) and Instructor positions (2016-2019) at the same institution. She also holds the position of Director of the Logistics Research and Application Center at Kafkas University since 2021.
Her educational background includes a PhD in Econometrics from Atatürk University (2015-2019), an MSc in Industrial Engineering from Atatürk University (2022-2024), a Master's in Business Administration from Kafkas University (2013-2015), and a BSc in Industrial Engineering from Sakarya University (1995-1999). She has also obtained a YÖKDİL English proficiency certificate with a score of 83 in 2022.
Dr. Karadağ Albayrak's research focuses on Multi-Criteria Decision Making, Time Series Analysis, Optimization and Efficiency Analysis, and Operations Research. Her work bridges theoretical methodologies with practical applications in energy systems, transportation logistics, and supply chain management. She has developed expertise in fuzzy logic-based decision-making techniques, gray forecasting models, and econometric analysis for energy and transportation systems.
Her publication portfolio shows a strong trend toward applying quantitative decision-making methods to energy policy and transportation challenges. Approximately 60% of her recent work focuses on renewable energy systems, including forecasting models for energy production and consumption, evaluation of renewable energy sources, and the relationship between energy systems and economic growth. Another significant portion addresses transportation and logistics problems using multi-criteria decision-making approaches, particularly in port performance evaluation, railway freight demand forecasting, and sustainable supplier selection.
Dr. Karadağ Albayrak is an active peer reviewer for several high-impact journals including Energy Strategy Reviews (Q1), Plos One (Q2), Heliyon (Q1), Journal of Energy Efficiency (Q1), and Journal of Cleaner Production (Q1). She has also conducted interviews with TRT Erzurum Radio on topics related to her expertise.
She teaches a wide range of courses including Supply Chain and Logistics Management, Procurement and Inventory Management, Operations Research, Production Management, and Transportation courses covering sea, rail, and road transport. Her administrative roles include serving as Deputy Director of Quality Coordination at Kafkas University (2021-2023) and Director of the Logistics Research and Application Center (2021-present).
